Commitment to Cooperative Design

Good design is a collaboration. And the deeper the conversation, the richer the result. If that means we have to carry our communications back and forth for a few rounds, so much the better. Clarification and corrections are much easier on paper, much harder in stone.

 What to Expect

This is how we work: 

We start by visiting the project location with you, and having a conversation about the expectations for your landscape. Each place is unique, having its own character, challenges and opportunities. This is where good landscape design begins. Our initial site consultation is complimentary.

Once our discussion of your project leads to a decision to work together, a design contract will be written. Design and consultation services are billed at an hourly rate. Services might include measuring and survey work, photography and site recording, research, master planning, drawing and rendering, plan preparation, master plant list preparation and any others that will ensure the most solid landscape plan for your project.

After a contract is signed, we get to work, both at your site and in our studio. We offer mid project consultations as well to keep the process running smoothly.

At our final meeting, we will present all of the materials necessary to get your landscape project off to the right start, and guide it to its best completion.
